Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Ertugrul Gunay on Wednesday meet with Rachid Ghannouchi, the leader of Tunisia's Ennahda Party, in Carthage, as part of his contacts in Tunisia.
"Our new constitution will be founded upon the principles of democracy, secularism and social state, which are the traditions of Turkey. I believe a similar path in Tunisia will make great contributions to the development and strengthening of Tunisian democracy," Gunay told reporters during the meeting.
Ghannouchi, on his part, said Tunisia planned to introduce a five percent election threshold, which he said would contribute to stability of the democratization process in the country.
Ghannouchi also said democracy, freedom, human rights and rule of law were integral principles to place recent developments in the Arab world on right foundations.
Following the meeting the Turkish minister departed for Turkey.
