ANKARA and LONDON (JTW) - Turkish State Minister and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said “the European Union is an important process for Turkey but it is not such important to sacrifice the Cyprus”.
Bagis attended a seminar titled "Turkey's Role in Rising Network World" organized by Global Strategy Forum in the British capital of London. Bagis before the seminar made a press conference in London and thanked the British parties for their EU membership support. “Britain is the most obvious state which supports Turkey’s EU membership. It is so pleasing that two state at the two different poles of the European continent make co-operation for the Europe’s common interests” he added.
Egemen Bagis said “who is responsible for the failure in Cyprus is clear, everybody knows who is spoiling the process. Nobody can hide the realities. Turkey and the TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus have been ahead, they have done anything possible for solution, peace and integration. All the world have seen who prevented solution, who rejected all the prescriptions for the solution. The European Union is an important process for Turkey yet it is not such important to sacrifice the Cyprus.”
Minister Bagis will join a seminar at the House of the Lords. Other names who will join the same seminar are Kursad Tuzmen, Deputy Chair of the AK Party, Yasar Yakis, former Foreign Minister and the Head of the Turkish Parliament EU Commission, Suat Kiniklioglu, Deputy Chair of the AK Party External Relations, Nursuna Memecan, AK Party MP, Ibrahim Kalin, Adviser to the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
