The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF), one of the strong political groups which has supported Kocharian regime in Armenia, aims to occupy Turkey's eastern provinces, Azerbaijan's Nakhichevan province and Georgia's Javakhk region. ARF has dominated the Armenian policies in Kocharian period. The first Armenian President Ter-Petrosian had banned the ARF. The ARF had encouraged and organized terrorists attacks against Turkish diplomats during the 1970s and 1980s.
The influential Armenian political group is against the opening of Turkish-Armenian border. The ARF leaders oppose any dialogue attempt with the Turkish politicians. It is said that the most formidable bar for Kocharian regime to establish dialogue with Turkey is Tashnaks (ARF).
ARF's and the current administration's irredentist approach cause unrest in the region and increase Armenia's isolation
According to the Armenian Revolutionary Federation's official program the foremost aim of the ARM is " The creation of a Free, Independent, and United Armenia. The borders of United Armenia shall include all territories designated as Armenia by the Treaty of Sevres as well as the regions of Artzakh, Javakhk, and Nakhichevan."
In the same program the ARF name the Turkish eastern provinces as "the occupied lands" and says all Armenians will return to these "occupied territories" in future.
Armenian forces occupied Azerbaijan's 20 percent and made more than 1 million Azeris refugee. The Armenian forces attacked Nakhichevan but Turkey's warnings stopped the Armenians. The EU bodies named Armenia "occupier" and "aggressive".
