The European Union (EU) Center was opened in Istanbul on Saturday with a ceremony attended by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Center, Erdogan said that the EU process was an important one for Turkey to go above the level of contemporary civilization.
The EU is a project of civilization for Turkey and we will continue to make efforts in this direction, Erdogan stressed.
The EU Center will be jointly used by the Turkish Secretariat General for the European Union and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's EU Affairs Department.
