Monday, 7 December 2009Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived in Washington D.C. as the official guest of U.S. President Barack Obama.
Prime Minister Erdogan is set to meet with President Obama later on Monday.
After holding a joint news conference, Erdogan and Obama will come together for the second time over a luncheon.
Prime Minister Erdogan will deliver a speech, "Turkey: A Country Settling Peace through Diplomacy in the 21st Century", at the John Hopkins University.
He will also attend a meeting to be hosted by a think-tank organization, SETA, on "Turkey in World Politics".
His wife Emine Erdogan, State Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan, State Minister & chief negotiator for EU talks Egemen Bagis, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Public Works & Housing Minister Mustafa Demir, Justice & Development (AK) Party Deputy Chairman Kursad Tuzmen and Deputy Chief of General Staff Gen. Aslan Guner are accompanying the Prime Minister. |
