kyrgyzgas to pay uzbekistan $2.8 million of its gas debt - report

Kyrgyzgas plans to transfer Uzbekistan another $2.8 million of its gas debt, press service of the company informed the news agency 24.kg on 30 November.

The rest indebtedness inclusive of current volume of consumed gas will amount to $2 million. "The next debt payment will be made as payments from Kyrgyzgas consumers are received," the press service reported.

Uzbekistan refused to hold talks over gas supply to Kyrgyzstan for 2010 till the republic pays off its $19 million indebtedness and fully shut down gas supply to the south of Kyrgyzstan. The head of Kyrgyzgas and Uzbek side have reached agreement about redemption of the indebtedness by 1 December 2009.
