Turkish young skater has put her name in the sports history of Turkey after being ranked 30th among 146 junior female skaters in the list of ISU Junior Ladies Grand Prix of Figure Skating 2009/2010.
13-year-old Sila Saygi told the A.A that she began figure skating at the age of five with the motivation of her family.
"I have qualified to the category of junior ladies as of the beginning of this year. I came on the sixth place during the Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in Hungary and tenth in Istanbul. Now, I am going to participate in the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2010 in The Hague, Netherlands on March 7 and 14. I want to take place in the the first five. My target is to join the Winter Olympic Games in 2014 and to be ranked in the first ten," she said.
Saygi's coach Natalia Ozsenogullari said that Sila became the first Turkish skater taking place in the list of ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating. "It is not easy to become 30th among the world's best 300 skaters. She has the talent and the ambition," she added.
Born in Ankara in 1996, Saygi got her best personal score with 118.94 during the ISU Junior Grand Prix in Budapest in 2009.
