DO NOT OPEN BORDER UNLESS OCCUPATION ENDS
The two-day Congress of European Azerbaijanis and Azerbaijani Diaspora ended the other day in Frankfurt. The activity was attended by deputies from Turkey's Republican People's Party (CHP) and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP). Also, government representatives from Azerbaijan attended the Frankfurt meeting. The participants of the meeting made a call on Turkey not to open its border with Armenia unless Armenia ended occupation of Azerbaijani territory.
LEAVE DISTRESSING VOICES, COME TO ISRAEL TO DO BUSINESS, ISRAELI MINISTER
Israeli Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor Binyamin Fuad Ben Eliezer made a call on Turks to leave aside distressing voices and come to Israel to do business. "We hope to boost economic relations with Turkey. We would like to see Turkish businessmen in Israel. We think it is possible to go back to the past in tourism and commerce. This would definitely be excellent," Eliezer said.

CAUTION! LIFE MAY HALT TOMORROW
Civil servants which could not reach an agreement with the government in the collective bargaining talks will go on a one-day strike tomorrow. Civil servant unions, Kamu-Sen, KESK, Kamu-Is, BASK and Hak-Sen, will participate in the strike which is supported by Turk-Is, DISK labour unions and TMMOB and TTB trade unions.
During the strike only urgent swine-flu vaccinations will be done in hospitals. Teachers will not attend classes and train services may halt tomorrow.
6 SQUARE METERS CREATES TENSION IN INITIATIVE
Democratic Society Party (DTP) leader Ahmet Turk, who is touring the Aegean, regarded moving of Abdullah Ocalan from a 12 m2 room to a 6 m2 room as provocative during the rally speeches in Aydin and Manisa. Turk made the following comment on the incidents in Izmir: "We can protect ourselves in all parts of Turkey. But it is necessary to think where all this is heading. If other leaders face similar things in other parts of Turkey, we will be sad."

MIT PROVIDES TRAINING TO ENERGY COMPANY EXECUTIVES ON SPYING ACTIVITIES
Turkey's National Intelligence Agency (MIT) has evaluated projects assumed in the energy sector. As such, the agency is providing training to executives of energy companies on spying activities.
ERDOGAN, FIRST PRIME MINISTER TO VISIT LIBYA IN 13 YEARS
Recep Tayyip Erdogan became the first Turkish Prime Minister ever to visit Libya in 13 years. Former Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan paid a visit to Libya in 1996. Erdogan said that his government wanted to establish a different future with Libya.

EARTHQUAKE OYMEN IN CHP
The recent comments made by the deputy chairman of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), Onur Oymen, on the incidents in Dersim have cost the political party heavily. 300 CHP members, including CHP leaders in towns such as Pulumur, Ovacik and Nazimiye, have resigned from the party following remarks of Oymen.
PRICE OF NATURAL GAS IN TURKEY TO GO UP
The price of natural gas consumed in Turkey will go up in 2010. Energy
sources said that the price of natural gas would increase by at least 50 percent in 2010.

AK PARTY DEPUTIES ARE ANXIOUS
A survey among lawmakers revealed that 60.3% of the Justice and Development (AK) Party deputies believe the fixed phone lines in their offices in the parliament are being tapped. According to the survey, 80.5% of the AK Party lawmakers feel uneasy when they talk about private things over the phone. AK Party lawmakers believe evidence obtained through phone-tapping would count as valid evidence.
82% of the lawmakers believe their cell phones are tapped, 71.4% of them believe their home phones are tapped while 78.2% believe the fixed phone lines in their offices in the parliament are tapped. 73.3% believe the rooms are bugged. 81.9% believe the monitoring is unlawful.
CIVIL SERVANTS TO GO ON ONE-DAY STRIKE TO WARN GOVERNMENT
Civil servant unions, KESK, Kamu-Is, BASK and Hak-Sen, will go on a one-day strike to warn the government. Turk-Is, DISK labour unions and and trade unions like TTB are supporting the strike. The goal of the strikers is to lay the foundations of union rights, including right to go on strikes and the right to hold collective bargaining talks. Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan who threatened the strikers said they would have to face the consequences.

DTP: THIS ATTACK WAS STAGED, KURDS ARE NOT UNPROTECTED
Democratic Society Party (DTP) accused the Republican People's Party (CHP) and the Nationalist Moverment Party (MHP) for the attack in Izmir and urged the government to take action. DTP deputy Aysel Tugluk said, "the attack was staged. Don't let anybody think that Kurds are unprotected, or Kurds are disorganised. What if the Kurds do not allow anybody in Diyarbakir in the future, then what?"
DTP leader Ahmet Turk said, "we can protect ourselves anywhere but we need to think where all of this is heading towards."
CHP'S TUNCELI BRANCH DESERTED
Reactions to the "Dersim blunder" of Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Chairman Onur Oymen still continue in Tunceli where the walls are decorated with posters impersonating him as Adolf Hitler. 300 people including three mayors resigned from CHP in Tunceli.

AN INVITATION FROM LEBANON
Prime Minister of Lebanon, Sa'ad al-Din al-Hariri, said that stability was
established in his country and that Turkish companies willing to do business in Lebanon would not face any difficulties. "If there is a time when Turkish businessmen should do business in Lebanon, that time is now," al-Hariri stressed.
IRAQ PREPARES LIST AND MAKHMOUR TO RETURN HOME
Interior Minister Besir Atalay said that Iraq had prepared a list of 5,000
people on individuals living in the Makhmour refugee camp. Those people would return to Turkey soon, Atalay said.

SEARCH FOR OIL IN BLACK SEA TO BEGIN IN FEBRUARY
Turkey's search for oil in the Black Sea will begin in February, 2010.
Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) and its Brazilian partner Petrobras will begin search activities off Sinop province.
ALL ENVELOPES TO BE DELIVERED IN 3 DAYS
Director General of Turkish Postal Service (PTT) Osman Tural said that, as of 2010, all envelopes will be delivered in three days at maximum throughout Turkey. The PTT wishes to catch European and world standards in envelope delivery.

ALIYEV SHAKES HANDS WITH SARGSIAN
Turkey's "Armenian Initiative" will bear its first fruits in Karabakh.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian President Serzh Sargsian who got together in Munich yesterday agreed on abandonment of Kelbecer and 4 regions to Azerbaijan.
The two leaders could not reach a final result over the framework agreement which foresees a partial end to the invasion in Karabakh but agreed on abandonment of 5 regions to Azerbaijan.
CHP COLLAPSE IN DERSIM
Waves of reactions are rising against the Republican People's Party (CHP) for Deputy Chairman Onur Oymen who refused to take back his words which drew Alewis crazy. CHP Deputy Kemal Kilicdaroglu, who is an Alewi, was protested everywhere he went in Europe.
CHP was shocked in Tunceli with resignation of its Pulumur, Ovacik and
Nazimiye mayors, members of the municipal assembly and 500 party members at a rally like meeting.
