Turkey's pop singer Ajda Pekkan will give a concert in New York in December, a news portal said on Sunday.
A New York based news portal "TurkishNY" released a statement in which it said that pop singer Ajda Pekkan would take stage in an award ceremony of the portal on December 18.
The concert will be at the 2,500-people "The Hammerstein Ballroom" at the Manhattan Center.
Beginning her musical career in 1962, she recorded songs in Turkish, English, French, German, Greek, Spanish and Japanese and released more than 20 albums.
In 1977, she represented Turkey at the Yamaha Music Festival in Japan with a French song, and won two awards, one for teh best performer and one for the best song.
In 1988, the Turkish Ministry of Culture granted Pekkan the statute of Singer of State.
