Friday, 20 November 2009President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution on 19 November of celebrating the Kurban Hayit holiday on 27 November.
The resolution highlights the role and importance of the Kurban Hayit in the spiritual life of the people, preserving the national and religious values, and strengthening the unity and kindness, UzA reported.
"Taking into consideration the proposal of the Muslims' board of Uzbekistan that the first day of Kurban Hayit coincides with 27 November 2009, this day should be marked as a holiday in the country," the resolution states. |
