Friday, 20 November 2009Turkish Foreign Ministry, on Thursday, condemned the bloody attacks in Peshawar city of Pakistan and expressed concern over the attacks.
Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement and said, "we have learned with great sorrow that many people died in the terrorist attack that targeted a courthouse. Turkey expresses condolences for those who lost their lives and wishes quick recovery to those who were injured in the attack."
The statement referred to the seven separate terrorist attacks in Peshawar in less than two weeks and noted that, "all the attacks targeted innocent civilians and public buildings and claimed lives of innocent people. It is known that such kind of attacks would not deter Pakistan's fight against terrorism."
The statement said fight against terrorism required absolute solidarity and cooperation of international community, indicating that Turkey was in full solidarity with friendly country Pakistan in fight against terrorism. It said Turkey considered terrorism as common enemy of humanity.
A suicide bomber blew himself up outside a courthouse in northwestern Pakistan on Thursday, killing 19 people.
