Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said ìWe are not trying to create a duty (in Syria-Israel problems) for us. Mr. Olmert, Israelís Prime Minister, trusted us at that time, but the current PM Netanyahu does not trust us. It is his business, not ourî.

Prime Minister Erdogan had condemned massive Israeli air strikes on Gaza in 2008, calling them a sign of "disrespect" toward Ankara's peace efforts.

The raids came only days after Olmert's visit to Ankara, when both Erdogan and President Abdullah Gul urged him to lift a blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip.
