Tim Mcgraw Releases Long-awaited 'southern Voice'

Country star Tim McGraw's long-delayed album has finally been released.  

Tim McGraw's 'Southern Voice'McGraw waited three years for the release of his new album Southern Voice. He recorded the collection in late-2006 with his touring band The Dancehall Doctors. Last year, Tim publicly criticized his record company for choosing to issue three greatest hits collections instead of getting new music out to his fans.

Many of the 12 tracks on Southern Voice deal with serious subjects, including the loss of a parent, and infidelity that leads to a murder-suicide. He relates to his own mortality on this track, "If I Died Today."

Tim says he has mixed emotions about the long delay in the release of Southern Voice. He's excited that people are finally getting to hear the songs, but he feels somewhat detached from them. Tim has already collected some songs for his next album, which he plans to begin recording soon.

For the first time in four years, Tim performed at the Country Music Association Awards, which were held in Nashville on November 11. Nine days later, his fifth motion picture will open in U.S. theaters.  The Blind Side, which also stars Sandra Bullock, tells the story of a homeless child in Memphis who's taken in by a wealthy couple. In January, he'll begin filming another movie with Gwyneth Paltrow. Tim will also find time next year to perform an extensive tour in support of Southern Voice. His new single is called "Still."
