The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, during live broadcast on Friday assigned the management of Almaty to shift to electro transport, Kazakhstan Today agency reports.

"We spend a lot of money to build an underground in Almaty and are constructing pedestrian subways and road junctions. For this purpose, we will start to partially introduce bioethanol to reduce emissions and will gradually shift to gas fuel," N. Nazarbayev said.

N. Nazarbayev said that Kazakhstan had ratified the Kyoto Protocol and by 2020 will reduce emissions of hotbed gases by 20 %."
