Thursday, 12 November 2009The experts of the CSTO member states discussed the situation in Afghanistan and defined it as complicated and deteriorating on November 11, 2009 during the eighth session of the working group for Afghanistan under the Council of the CSTO Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Kazakhstan Today agency reports citing the CSTO's press service.
"The session participants discussd the necessity of intensification of collective efforts of the organization to counteract the challenges and threats to security and establishment of cooperation of the CSTO states with other international organizations involved in maintenance of international and regional safety in Afghanistan."
According to the press service, the session participants have taken into consideration the information on performance of the plan of the working group for Afghanistan of the Council of the CSTO Ministers of Foreign Affairs for the first half of 2009 and have considered the project of the plan for the first half of the next year.
