CAN THIS HEART FORGET YOU?
In a photograph taken in 1926 and currently on the wall of the Bozuyuk train station, there is a child named Nezihe Benson beside Ataturk, the Founder of the Republic of Turkey. Benson is now 94 years old. Speaking on that day, Benson said, "Ataturk asked me to be his adopted daughter, but my mom did not give permission."
Benson went on saying, "Ataturk came to Bozuyuk on May 20. I was at the last grade of the elementary school. My teacher told me to read the poem during the ceremony. I could not sleep that night because I was very excited. The train carrying Ataturk came at 9.45 a.m. I read my poem after the military welcome ceremony."
Benson said, "in the last verse, I prostrated before Ataturk. My eyes
darkened and I could see nothing. Pasha grasped me and his eyes were a deep blue. You could not look into his eyes. This much time has passed, but I still cannot forget its influence."

THEIR DISBARMENT IS DEMANDED
The Justice Ministry requested that Osman Kacmaz, a judge in Sincan district of Ankara who has found out that the Telecommunication Communication Chairmanship was making "illegal tapping", and Omer Faruk Eminagaoglu, the chairman of the Judges and Prosecutors Association (YARSAV) who claimed that judges and prosecutors were tapped illegally", should both be disbarred.

CAPITALISM IS OVER, WORLD IS ABOUT TO UNDERGO SERIOUS CHANGES
The Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) brought together leaders of 57 Islam countries in Istanbul. Speaking in the summit, Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadi-Nejad claimed that capitalism had come to an end, and the world was about to undergo serious changes.

URANIUM SUMMIT
Turkish and Iranian authorities discussed a recent proposal made by the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mohamed ElBaradei, that Iran should send its uranium to Turkey for enrichment. Sources said that Iran might accept the proposal.

SPORTING LISBON AFTER TERIM
The Portuguese media reported that Fatih Terim is about to sign a contract with Sporting Lisbon soccer club. Fatih Terim has recently resigned as the coach of Turkey's National Soccer Team.

LT. COLONEL GETS ARRESTED
A total of 8 soldiers including a lieutenant colonel and two NCOs gave
statement to Ergenekon prosecutors under charges of erasing evidence regarding the "Action Plan to Fight Reactionaries". The lieutenant colonel was arrested and sent to military prison. The court issued an order forbidding one of the two NCOs to travel abroad.

HAND IN HAND FOR COOPERATION
President Abdullah Gul who made the opening speech of Economic Summit of the the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), said, "we have to spread the peaceful message of Islam to the world." Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadi-Nejad said capitalism had collapsed urging OIC members to unite in order to make their economies stronger. Syrian President Bashar al-Asad said a common card should be
issued for businessmen in order to solve the visa problem.

71 YEARS WITHOUT HIM
Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founder of the Republic of Turkey, will be
commemorated on the 71st anniversary of his demise. The first ceremony to remember Ataturk will take place at his mausoleum (Anitkabir) in Turkish capital of Ankara.

FIRST DRAFT LAW OF DEMOCRATIC MOVE
A draft law, prepared as part of the government's democratic move, will be submitted to the parliament today. Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin said that the draft law was one on "children throwing stones". If the draft law is adopted, children throwing stones at security personnel will be freed.

MINISTRY OF JUSTICE WANTS YARSAV CHAIRMAN AND SINCAN JUDGE TO BE EXPELLED
The Ministry of Justice asked the Judges and Prosecutors Supreme Board to expel the Chief Judge of the Sincan 1st High Criminal Court, Osman Kacmaz, --who issued a search warrant for the Telecommunications Department (TIB) for an investigation into illegal phone-tapping allegations-- and Judges and Prosecutors Union Chairman Omer Faruk Eminagaoglu who filed a criminal complaint about illegal phone-tapping.
While Kacmaz's lawyer said it was rather bizarre that the request for
dismissal came after the raid on TIB, Eminagaoglu said, "following the decision to investigate TIB comes the request for our expel." Eminagaoglu who said that the Ministry of Justice did not have the authority to investigate Supreme Court Prosecutors, and such a blow to the judiciary had not been witnessed even during military coups.

GUL AND AHMEDI-NEJAD DISCUSS IRAN'S NUCLEAR PROGRAMME
President Abdullah Gul who holds the Chairmanship of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, and Iranian President Mahmud Ahmedi-Nejad, who travelled to Istanbul to attend the Economic Summit, discussed the nuclear programme of the Tehran administration. The two also discussed the developments in Afghanistan.

CHEAP TAPPING TECHNOLOGY EVERYWHERE
Every one can tap his/her children or spouse with softwares and devices sold in markets. Their sale and advertisement are legal, and their prices are below 1,000 Turkish liras (TL).

PAYOFF AT TOP OF JUDICIARY
The Justice Ministry requested the disbarring of judge Osman Kacmaz, who launched an investigation into the Telecommunication Communication Chairmanship and paved the way for trial of President Abdullah Gul, and Omer Faruk Eminagaoglu, the chairman of the Judges and Prosecutors Association (YARSAV). The judge who carried out the investigation in the chairmanship has lodged a complaint about the head of the legal department of the chairmanship for "he was hampering him from fulfilling his duties."

COMCEC OPENING WITH EU
Leaders of 62 member and observer countries participated in the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) meeting in Istanbul. Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadi-Nejad and Syrian President Bashar al-Asad drew the attention in the meeting in which Sudanese President Umar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir did not participate.
Opening the summit, President Abdullah Gul referred to concerns of the West that "Turkey is shifting its course", and said, "the European Union (EU) process that our country is following and its initiatives within the scope of COMCEC are elements of our foreign policy that support each other."

FIRST STEP FOR UNIFICATION
The Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) meeting in Istanbul was a scene of colorful developments. Leaders had their family photograph taken after the summit. President Abdullah Gul, Syrian President Bashar al-Asad and Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadi-Nejad gave hand-in-hand in the photograph.
During the summit, the Islam world agreed to make an economic cooperation, which has been expected for years. Leaders will take joint action against global developments.

GIANT PROFIT FROM GARANTI AND ZIRAAT
Two important banks of Turkey, Ziraat and Garanti, announced they had recorded profit in the first nine months of 2009. Ziraat Bankasi said it had a net profit of 2.6 billion Turkish liras (TL), and Garanti Bankasi said its net profit was 2.1 billion TL in the first nine months of 2009.

DEMOCRATIC MOVE TO COME TO PARLIAMENT ON TUESDAY
In its Tuesday's session, the parliament will debate the "democratic
initiative" of the government. Interior Minister Besir Atalay will talk about the process and what will be done. The government will inform the public with conferences. Atalay said Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan would go on tours throughout Turkey regarding the democratic move.

MESOPOTAMIA TO BE REGION OF WELFARE
President Abdullah Gul said the Mesopotamia region would be one of welfare with the support of members of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). Gul asked for the support of Islamic countries in ending the international isolations imposed on the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

PARLIAMENT TO BEGIN DEBATES ON DEMOCRATIC MOVE
The parliament will begin debating the government's democratic move today. The debates will begin with a speech to be delivered by Interior Minister Besir Atalay.

PEACE MESSAGE
The Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) which was founded in 1984 brought together leaders of 44 Muslim countries. The leaders gave messages of peace with the Istanbul Declaration and Turkey's leading role in the Islamic Community was confirmed.
President Abdullah Gul who made the opening speech of the Economic Summit called on Islamic countries to take concerted action against global problems like food and financial crisis and climate change. Gul also underscored the importance of the preferential trade system.

HOW WERE DOCUMENTS ERASED
Eight soldiers who are accused of destroying evidence related with the coup plot signed by Colonel Dursun Cicek were interrogated. The eight soldiers, one of whom was major, were asked about how they erased hard drives of the computers in Colonel Cicek's office and how they destroyed other evidence. The soldiers were released after the interrogation.
