The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, has assigned to carefully investigate the causes of the fire in a warehouse in Astana, Kazakhstan Today agency reports citing the president's press service.
According to the press service, the President condoled with the families of the victims of the fire in the Open Company Transit-Service Warehouse in Astana.
"The head of state has assigned General Public Prosecutor of Kazakhstan to investigate the causes of the tragedy and to reveal and punish the guilty. He also assigned the Emergency Minister to take measures to liquidate fire consequences.
16 people died in Astana in the fire in the warehouse. There is also one casualty," the press service of the Emergency Ministry informed.
