Only hours remain until Beyonce's concert which will be held in Port Ghalib, Egypt as part of her I AmƖ world tour. Since its announcement, the concert has caused a blacklash by conservatives in Egypt. A letter from a member of Egyptƭs biggest opposition group, the Muslim Brotherhood stated, "Why are you encouraging this insolent sex party? You are accused of disturbing social peace and stability, encouraging vice and debauchery."

A similar critisim had taken place last month in the capital of Malezia,Kuala Lumpur, and Beyonce canceled her concert there.

In Egypt, the most populous country of the Arab World, the elite class represents most of the secular community while the majority of the population is still very conservative and poor, and Muslim women typically wear the headscarf. Prior to the concert, posters of the singer that were posted in CairoĆs street bilboards were protested and a campaign began to prevent the concert.

While the concert was branded as an Ƭinsolent sex partyƮ, the eventƭs orginizer, Ahmed Belgati says, "We are Muslims too... this will not stop Egypt from hosting an award-winning, first class artist. We should salute her instead of criticising her".
