Here are the main topics that the English News Desk of "Anadolu Agency" has to cover on November 2, 2009:

1- Turkish President Abdullah Gul is paying a state visit to Slovakia.
- After an official welcoming ceremony, President Gul and President Ivan Gasparovic of Slovakia will hold a tete-a-tete meeting. They will also preside the meetings between Turkish and Slovakian delegations and hold a joint news conference following the talks.
- Turkish National Defense Minister and Slovakian Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak will sign an agreement for building of a martyrdom for Turkish soldiers who lost their lives in the Galicia front during the World War I.
- Turkish Ambassador in Bratislava Tunc Ugdul will host a luncheon in honor of President Gul and the accompanying delegation.
- Gul is set to attend the Turkish-Slovakian Business Forum.
- After receiving Slovakian opposition leader Mikulas Curinda, President Gul will partake in a banquet to be hosted in his honor by President Gasparovic.
2- The Council of Ministers will convene under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara. (11:00 a.m.)

4- Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will attend the 12th meeting of the D-8 Council of Foreign Ministers in Malaysia.
5- Turkish State Minister & Chief Negotiator for EU talks Egemen Bagis will receive former prime minister Guenther Beckstein of German state of Bavaria in Ankara. (10:45 a.m.)
6- Turkish State Minister for foreign trade Zafer Caglayan pays a formal visit to Republic of South Africa.
7- Bill Clinton, one of former presidents of the United States, and Gerhard Schroeder, one of former chancellors of Germany, will attend a conference in Istanbul on "Leadership for Sustainable Success" as speakers. (2:00 p.m.)
8- President Mehmet Ali Talat of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Greek Cypriot administration leader Demetris Christofias will meet in buffer zone in Lefkosa for the 49th time under Cyprus talks. (4:00 p.m.)
