Turkish State Minister Zafer Caglayan said on Friday that two more border passes would be opened with Iraq by the end of 2010.
State Minister for Foreign Trade Caglayan said Turkey and Iraq signed a memorandum of understanding to open two more border crossings.
Speaking to journalists aboard the plane on his way to Iraq, Caglayan said Turkish businessmen carried on business in north of Iraq and Baghdad but they were not much active in southern part of Iraq. Caglayan said the target of the visit was to diversify areas of business.
Caglayan said busy traffic in Turkey-Iraq border passes caused delays, and noted that Turkey and Iraq signed the memorandum of understanding to overcome the delays and to contribute to trade.
Turkish minister also said establishment of a common logistic center was also on the agenda, "Turkey will also extend support to establishment of a free zone in Iraq".
