Turkey and Iran have penned energy deals during Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's recent visit to Iran this week, officials said.
Under the agreements, Iran will allocate South Pars gas fields in the Persian Gulf to Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO); Iran's natural gas will be carried to Europe via Turkey; and Turkmenistan's natural gas will be pumped to Turkey via Iran.
Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said that Iran has rich oil and natural gas reserves. He said Turkey has got the right of use and sales right of some phases in the South Pars gas field. "Its conditions and prices will be negotiated later," Yildiz said.
