An incident took place between police and local residents in Shamkir region of Azerbaijan (400 km at Baku).

On Oct.18, there was a road accident on the Baku-Gazakh highway. The police tried to push aside residents gathered at the scene of an accident and police attempts resulted with an incident between the parties. Several policemen suffered injuries during the incident, the Prosecutor Office of the Shamkir region told Trend News on Oct.19

The Serious Crimes Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office filed a suitcase into the fact.

On Oct, 18 a car with state number of 60-BK-240 driven by a resident of the Duzgirkhli village of the Tovuz region knocked passersby Aladdin Hasanov and Anar Huseynli. Both passersby died on the spot.

According to residents, the accident occurred due to the fact that the cars of the traffic policeman with state number of 10 YP 851 and 10 YP 853 chased the car with state number of 60-BK-240 to detain the driver. After the accident, one police car moving at a high speed hit passersby.

It caused an incident between police and local residents.
