Yemeni army said on Sunday it killed 18 terrorists in separate attacks in northern Yemen, Xinhua quoted official SABA news agency as reporting.
An unidentified military source told SABA that the government army killed seven insurgents in an concluding operation in the areas of Bart triangle, Wadi Ablah and Thu Sulaiman in the northern Saada province.
Meanwhile, four insurgents were killed and a vehicle carrying militants and arms was destroyed in the mountainous area of Harf Sufian.
In a nearby attack, the army killed two rebels and destroyed their hideouts in the area.
In the meantime, the governmental forces stopped an attack by the Houthi insurgents in Saada province and killed five militiamen while they were trying to block a nearby road.
The army said its forces proceeded in many areas of fighting and made successes in several operations during which they seized huge quantities of arms and ammunition including a rocket launching pad.
The Scorched Earth operation launched by the Yemeni army against Shiite rebellion entered its third month on Oct. 11.
The Yemeni government launched the operation to smash the rebellion which it says aims to revive the clerical system of rule known as Zaidi Imamate that was overthrown in 1962 by a coup that resulted in an eight-year civil war.
