Lebanese Army Confrims Israel's Detonation Of Two Spy Devices

Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) confirmed on Sunday that Israel remotely detonated two wire- tapping devices it had implanted in the border area of the two countries, Xinhua quoted Lebanese state news agency as reporting.
   The Lebanese Army Command issued a communique, saying that the first detonation happened on Saturday night in Wadi al-Onq area in South Lebanon between Houla and Maiss al-Jabal villages. It added that on Sunday morning Israel detonated another device in the same manner and in the same location.
   Following the two explosions, Lebanese Army with the cooperation of UN Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL), managed to dismantle equipment that were used for the two apparatuses mentioned.
   A committee comprised of both the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL is currently conducting investigations into the incidents. Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes conducted over-flights in the area of Houla-Meis El-Jabal, while Lebanese Army anti-plane opened fire.
   The statement said  LAF is searching for more Israeli explosive devices. The UNIFIL said that the explosives were planted during 2006 July War to destroy wire-tapping device.
   A source told the local Now Lebanon news that Israelis planted the device to monitor Hezbollah's communication network.
   Israel and Lebanese Shiite armed group Hezbollah fought a 34- day war in the summer of 2006, which killed more than 1,200 Lebanese civilians 160 Israelis.
