9-year pupils in Azerbaijan will pass the centralized examinations.

"This year, for the first time, the Education Minister will organize the centralized examinations for 9-year pupils," Education Minister, Misir Mardanov told journalists on Oct. 19.

In 2008, the centralized exams will be held at secondary schools of Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, Shirvan and Mingachevir cities of Azerbaijan, as well as, in Ujar, Imishli and Ismayilli regions of the country. This year, the representatives of the Education Minister will be sent to schools of all regions to take the centralized examinations. They will hold training for principals, teachers and school-leavers on the centralized examinations.
