First Batch of Swine Flu Vaccines Brought to Turkey

The first batch of swine flu vaccines reached Turkey on Sunday.
Health Ministry officials said that the first batch of vaccines including 500,000 doses were brought in Istanbul. They added that the vaccines, which were ordered from Novartis company, were sent from Italy.
The vaccines are expected to be brought to Ankara early on Monday.
Officials said that the vaccines would be tested in Refik Saydam Hifzisihha Center for 5 up to 20 days, and then they would be distributed to health institutions if they were decided to be applicable.
Health Ministry stated that firstly, health personnel would be vaccinated.
The number of people, who have been infected with H1N1 virus in Turkey so far, is 551. The number of cases in capital Ankara reached 41 in the last five days.
