Sunday, 18 October 2009Iran's official news agency is reporting that at least 20 people, including five senior commanders of the elite Revolutionary Guard, have been killed in a suicide bombing in southeastern Iran, AP reported.
The IRNA news agency says the dead included Gen. Noor Ali Shooshtari, the deputy commander of the Guard's ground force, and Rajab Ali Mohammadzadeh, the Guard's chief provincial commander. IRNA reports that dozens of others were wounded.
Sunday's news report said the commanders were inside a car on their way to a meeting when an attacker with explosives blew himself up.
The attack took place in the Pishin region near Iran's border with Pakistan. |
