Ireli public association has initiated a project to attract public to Azerbaijani upcoming municipal elections and encourage youth participation in elections both as voters and as candidates, the press service of the association told Trend News on Oct.17.

"Municipalities 2009: encouraging youth to participate in municipal elections" project is aimed at enlightening young people in the municipalities and development of the municipalities-public relations. Ireli will hold workshops on "Week of democracy" in 56 cities and regional centers from Oct. 21 to Nov. 20 under this project. At the end of the project workshops will be held for the interested participating in the elections as observers.
