Azerbaijan is an integral part of the Turkic-speaking world, and we are ready to have positions in all projects of Turkic-speaking countries, Azerbaijani Minister of Culture and Tourism, Abulfaz Garayev said at the opening of the 26th meeting of the TURKSOY Permanent Council in Baku on Oct. 16.

He said much work has been recently conducted in the direction of rapprochement of TURKSOY and Azerbaijan. "In order to raise the culture of Turkic-speaking countries to the world level, we need to conduct more work for which we are ready," said the minister.

The 26th meeting of the TURKSOY Permanent Council started in Baku on Oct. 16.

The agenda included issues such as the results of operations of the organization over the past year, the financial activities of the organization over the past year, review of legal documents for the amendment and additions, discussion and approval of the TURKSOY's program in 2010.
