The Turkish Ministry of Culture considers unacceptable insulting the Azerbaijani flag.

"Insulting the Azerbaijani flag is not admissible. The Azerbaijani flag is the flag of Turkey. We seriously condemn those who did it. Along with all this, I would like note that the ban on bringing the Azerbaijani flag to the Turkey-Armenia football match has no relation to the Turkish Government," Advisor to the Turkish Deputy Culture Minister, Kemal Fahir Genc told Trend News in Baku on Oct. 16.

During the Turkey-Armenia football match in Bursa, which took place on Oct. 14, the Azerbaijani flag was taken away from fans. Due to the incident on Oct. 15, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry submitted a protest to the Turkish Embassy.

Genc said disrespect for the flag is inexcusable.

"Whatever happens, Turkey will never want deteriorating relations with Azerbaijan. Every step taken in Turkey has an impact on Azerbaijan. In the same way, every step in Azerbaijan has an impact on Turkey," he said.
