The prosecutor asked for imprisonment of 26 members of the "forest brothers" paramilitary group accused of the terrorism.

The gang members are also accused of committing a terrorist attack on the Abu Bakr mosque located in the Narimanov district of Baku.

The prosecutor appealed for 15 years imprisonment for Azerbaijani citizens, Elnur Bashirov, Fazil Malikov, Khalid Velimatov, Ulfat Malikov and Vahid Asadov and Russian citizen Magomed Isayev, and 7 years in imprisonment for Turkish citizen Yamin Ali, as well as three years imprisonment for another Turkish citizen Özdemir Ergin. Regarding other accused, the prosecutor applied to sentence them for periods ranging from three to 10 years in imprisonment.

The group planned to organize unrests in Azerbaijan and hold activities against the state system.

These persons are charged in accordance with Articles 214 (terrorism), 120 (premeditated murder), 279 (creation of an armed formations or groups, which are not provided by the legislation), 228 (illegal purchase, transfer, sale, possession, transportation or carrying of firearms, component parts to it, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
