Iranian General Staff of Armed Forces decided to create North Command of Naval Defense in the Caspian Sea by late 2009, commander of Iranian police, general Ismail Ahmadi-Muqaddam, said, Mehr agency said.
"Command of naval defense will unite defense of three provinces situated north of Iran. A headquarter will be established in each province," Muqaddam said in Iranian city of Rasht on October 15.
