Kyrgyzstan Launches Anti-terror Raid In Batken Region

Kyrgyzstan has launched special operation on capture of militants, penetrated into territory of Batken region to night, sources at the Batken regional administration informed the news agency 24.kg Thursday.

Head of the Kyrgyz Border Service is at the scene at the time.

According to the preliminary information, a group of 10 armed militants has penetrated into the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

Situation is under control, sub-units of all security services are involved in search of the criminals, Maratbek Jumabekov, governor of Batken region said.

At least 10 years have passed since Batken campaign of 1999-2000.
