Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman issued a statement Wednesday night announcing that the Turkish envoy would be summoned to protest the "inciting" television program that appeared Tuesday evening on prime time on the government-controlled station TRT1, the Israeli Jerusalem Port newspaper reported.

In the first episode of a series on a Palestinian family living in the West Bank, IDF soldiers are variously seen killing a baby and a young girl, and lining up Palestinians to be shot before a firing squad.

Lieberman, currently holding meetings in Austria, issued a statement saying the airing of this show, on a government-controlled station, represented the "gravest form of incitement."

On Monday, Turkish Foreign Ministry announced the postponement of the international exercise "Anatolian Eagle", scheduled for this week, due to the Israeli Air Force's participation in it on a par with Turkey and the United States.

Western and Israeli media commented on Turkey's decision to cancel the maneuvers as a response to a ground and air military operation of the Israeli army in Gaza last December - early January 2009.

But Prime Minister Recep Tayyib Erdogan on Wednesday said that the refusal of military exercises with Israel was caused by "the desire and the will of the Turkish people," Anadolu news agency reported.
