Clinton is ending a two-day trip to Russia with a town hall meeting. During this meeting at Moscow State University (MGU), Clinton told a group of students that "citizens must be empowered" to determine what laws they will live under. Moreover, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says it is important for Russia to embrace basic human rights and freedoms, including the right to openly participate in the political process. Clinton also addressed the attacks on journalists, and said it are those former values that make the recent attacks on journalists and human rights activists in Russia a "great concern" for Washington.
