Officials say the death toll continues to riseand many people are still missing. The latest fatalities includefirefighters who were involved in rescue operations.
Reportsfrom the region say floods are receding, but some area remain underwater. Rescue teams in helicopters and boats are trying to reachresidents trapped on the roofs of their homes.
Typhoon Parmahit the country last Saturday, just days after typhoon Ketsana. The twostorms killed about 600 people. Officials say more than 300,000 peopleare in makeshift shelters after floods washed away entire villages.
The United Nations has appealed for $74 million in emergency aid.
