Officials say the landslides have pushed the overall death toll from two weeks of devastating storms on the islands past 450.
Meanwhilein Japan, a separate powerful typhoon tore through the main islandThursday, peeling roofs off houses, and cutting off electricity tohundreds of thousands. The storm has killed at least four people.
