Monday, 5 October 2009Eric Daelman of Belgium became the new world champion at the end of the 28th Artistic Billiard World Championships in northern Turkish province of Kastamonu.
Haci Arap Yaman of Turkey, winner of the title last year, ranked second while Walter Bax of Belgium and Martin Van Rhee of the Netherlands came on the third place.
Twenty-four billiardists participated in the championships from September 30 to October 4.
Serdar Gumus, Baris Cin, Yavuz Oney, Senol Oztas and Koray Kirman of Turkey; Nubuyasu Sakai, Haijme Watanabe and Kouhei Kano of Japan; Kevin Tran, Michael Hammen, Jean Reverchon and Michel Parra of France; Sander Jonen, Rob Scholtes and Manfred Hekerle of the Netherlands; Xavier Fonellosa and Juan Carlos Cuadrado of Spain; Yong Seok Jeong of South Korea; as well as Thomas Ahrens and Franz Heigl of Germany were the other participants.
