Turkish Street Festival in New York

Turkish cuisine, art and culture were showcased at a festival in New York on Sunday.
"Turkish Days in New York", a festival organized by Turkish Cultural Center, featured Turkish streets on its last day with bazaar and spice markets as well as best Turkish cuisines from wide variety of food vendors, Turkish arts and crafts, cultural and educational exhibitions.
Turkish mehter show --the show of janissary band-- and sema shows --dance of whirling dervishes-- reflected the Turkish spirit to streets of New York during the week-long festival.
Turkish consul general in New York Mehmet Samsar said the festival was organized to promote Turkey, Turkish culture and also to make known the spirit of Turkey.
