Ahmet Turk was re-elected the leader of the Democratic Society Party (DTP).

The third extraordinary congress of the DTP took place in Ankara. 654 delegates cast their votes to elect new chairman of the political party. Turk received all valid 651 votes. During his speech at the congress, Turk said that Turkey was living through a significant period.

"We are ready to fulfil our responsibilities. Turkish and Kurdish peoples who have been living on these lands for a century deserve a better future," he said.
