Friday, 2 October 2009Kyrgyzstan will take part in the CSTO Corrective Rapid Deployment Forces’ drill which will run at the Matybulak training range in Kazakhstan on October 2-15.
Cooperation -2009 is devoted to the training and deployment of the CRDF in the collective security region. Governing bodies, response forces, departments and units of defense, interior and emergency ministries, and special services of the organization will be involved in the training.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization members came to an agreement to form the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces in February 2009. The agreement was signed in Moscow on June 14.
The main tasks of the CRDF are the strengthening of CSTO countries security against existing and potential threats. Those include terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and prevention, liquidation of emergencies and securing of the organizations effective participation in peace and security keeping.
