Here are the main topics that the English News Desk of "Anadolu Agency" has to cover on October 2, 2009:

1- Turkish President Abdullah Gul will travel to Azerbaijan to attend the "Turkic Speaking Countries Leaders Summit" in Nakhcevan.
- Gul will hold a press conference at Ankara's Esenboga Airport prior to his departure. (10:45 a.m.)
2- Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will hold talks with European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and EU Commissioner for enlargement Olli Rehn in the Belgian capital of Brussels.
- Davutoglu will also deliver a speech on "Turkey and EU: Achieving Synergy in Foreign Policy" during a meeting jointly organized by European Policy Centre and Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey (TUSKON).
3- Preparatory meetings held within the framework of IMF-World Bank annual meetings continue in Istanbul.
- World Bank President Robert Zoellick will hold a press conference. (9:30 a.m.)
- IMF's Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn will hold a press conference. (12:00 p.m.)
- Strauss-Kahn, who will later attend a conference on "global system" together with Central Bank Governor Durmus Yilmaz, will brief reporters after the gathering. (2:00 p.m.)
4- Turkish Board of Statistics (TUIK) will make public inflation figures for September 2009. (5:00 p.m.)
5- Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Ministry Undersecretary Metin Kilci will deliver a speech on the last day of the "Black Sea Energy and Economy Forum" held in the Romanian capital of Bucharest.
- Kilci will also meet with Bulgarian Economy & Energy Minister Traicho Traikov.
