Wednesday, 30 September 2009Around 50 opinion leaders from 25 countries will promote Istanbul.
The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism has launched a project together with Istanbul Municipality, Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency, several tourism agencies, Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, Istanbul Modern Arts Museum and Aksanat to promote Istanbul.
The project is named "Living Istanbul". The city has been chosen as the European capital of culture for 2010 .
Fifty opinion leaders from 25 countries will visit Istanbul, enjoy Istanbul life from the traditional Turkish cuisine to boat trip on the Bosphorus, from shopping in Nisantasi district to a bath in Turkish bath, for five days between October 21 and 25.
Senior representatives of newspapers, magazines and TV channels will later promote Istanbul in their countries.
Some of the countries included in the project are Germany, Britain, the Netherlands, Russia, Poland, the United States, Spain, France, Israel, China, Japan, India and Iran.
The delegation will visit the Topkapi Palace, Istanbul Archeology Museum, Sultan Ahmet (Blue) Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Yerebatan Cistern, have traditional Turkish breakfast, eat kebabs with Turkish music, and watch performance of whirling dervishes at the old train station in Eminonu neighborhood. |
