THEY SPEAK ABOUT IRAN, ATOM IN ISRAEL
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in New York that, "there are
countries in the Middle East which have nuclear weapons, for example Israel. Moreover, phosphorus bomb was used in Gaza. What is it called? A weapon of mass destruction. Nobody talks about those. We are talking about Iran over and over again."

PETITION FROM BRITISH WOMAN TO ERDOGAN
A famous British women's magazine claimed that cook Hamza Keskin who was accused of raping a Finnish and three British women in Marmaris, was released.
And the magazine published a complaint petition to prime minister.
There is a three-article request in the petition. It said the women should be treated equally as men and should not be sex object of men, police should be sensitive over rape and sexual assault complaints and the complaint should not be allowed to be forgotten.

"LOOK AT ISRAEL FIRST"
At a news conference at New York's Plaza Hotel, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized that Israel which possessed nuclear weapons did not receive the same reaction as Tehran's nuclear program. "They used phosphorus bombs in Gaza. What is that bomb called? It is a weapon of mass destruction. Nothing happens in Iran for the time being. But many things have happened in Gaza," he said.

"SOME TV SERIES SHOULD BE ON PAY-PER-VIEW"
State Minister Aliye Kavaf said that some TV series should be broadcast on pay-per-view. When asked during her trip to the eastern province of Elazig, "there are images in some TV series which contradict Turkish family life. Are you planning to take action against it?" Kavaf said that they should be broadcast PPV. Those who want to watch them, can pay and watch it."

"WE DON'T WANT NUCLEAR WEAPONS"
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan completed his talks in the United States and returned to Turkey. Erdogan made important statements at his arrival in Istanbul. Replying to a question, Erdogan said that they did not receive a proposal on mediation in regard to Iran's nuclear program. "We are against nuclear weapons. But there is a country in the Middle East which has nuclear weapons as well and it is Israel. But this issue is not on the table," Erdogan said.

AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR HOPEFUL ABOUT CLUNKERS INCENTIVE
Industry and Trade Ministry Nihat Ergun shed green light to clunker
incentive in the automotive sector. Industry Minister Ergun said that clunker incentive (for new car buyers to replace aging cars with new ones) will boost automobile sales.

ATTACK ON IRAN CRAZINESS, TURKISH PREMIER SAYS
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said launching a military attack on Iran would be a "crazy move" given the situation in Iraq after the U.S. invasion.
"That would be very very wrong. Iraq should have taught us a lesson. We need to ask ourselves: 'What did we achieve in Iraq?' The answer is that a civilization has collapsed and over a million people have been killed in the country," Erdogan said in response to a question on a possible military intervention to Iran's nuclear power.

LAST THREE DAYS ON TAX CUTS
Turkish government is reluctant to extend a deadline for reduced value added tax (VAT) and special consumption tax (OTV) on automotive, white goods, computers and furniture. The deadline ends on September 30. The government made reductions in VAT and OTV in a bid to stipulate economy out of recession marked by a global financial crisis.

FIRST STEP FOR RULING
Mustafa Sarigul, leader of Turkey's Change Movement (TDH), addressed thousands of people at an activity called, "Istanbul Meeting On the Way to Ruling".
Speaking at the meeting, Sarigul said TDH had sole target which was to
become the ruling party. Sarigul said actual opposition parties did not have the power to become the ruling party.

SARAH FERGUSON STEPS BACK
Former York Duchess Sarah Ferguson who entered orphanages in Turkey by disguising herself, withdrew her support from the book which was written after the footage taken at those institutions.
Lawyers of British Queen also launched initiatives to prevent the publishing of the book written by journalist Chris Rogers.

LEAVE IRAN ASIDE AND LOOT AT ISRAEL
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at a news conference he held to assess his visit to the United States, "there is a country in the Middle East which possesses nuclear weapons as well: This country is Israel. They used phosphorus bombs in Gaza. 1400 people including women and children died. What is it? It is a weapon of mass destruction."

INDIVIDUAL DISARMAMENT DAY
It was a routine weekend for Turkey. Three people were killed by stray
bullets fired in streets. Eight-year-old Osman Akgul was wounded by another stray bullet in the central province of Kayseri. And, today is the Individual Disarmament Day. There are 10 million people in Turkey with personal weapons.

IRAQ SHOULD BE LESSON
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned the world over the scenarios of
attack on Iran. Erdogan said, "a civilization was destroyed in Iraq. War on Iran would be craziness."
Erdogan said attack on Iran's nuclear facilities would lead to a new
nightmare in the world, and noted that, "everybody should take lesson from those experienced in Iraq. More than million people died and so what have we solved?"

IT IS GOKOVA'S TURN IN PIRATE CHASING
Gaziantep Frigate, successfully combating against pirates off Somalia, will hand over the mission to Gokova Frigate on October 5.
Gokova set sail with 267 Turkish soldiers to Aden Gulf on Sunday. Gokova will stay in the Aden Gulf till February 10, 2010. The frigate is equipped with the recent technology product weapons. The frigate had undertaken mission last year under NATO forces in Somalia.

MOVE WILL END TERRORISM
Interior Minister Besir Atalay replied to claims of the Republican People's Party (CHP) that said route of the move was clear.
Atalay said, "we have two targets. One is to end terrorism, the other is to upgrade democracy standards."

TURKEY'S GAS-PIPELINE MONOPOLY EYES ACCESS TO FOREIGN MARKETS
Turkey's state-run gas-import and pipeline monopoly, BOTAS, is preparing for a legal amendment which would allow the company to explore and extract natural gas outside Turkey. The proposed amendment on Natural Gas Market Law would open the way for BOTAS to become a producer especially in markets like Iran, Iraq and Azerbaijan.

JUSTICE MINISTRY SAVES 500 MLN TL WITH NATIONAL INFORMATION NETWORK
National Justice Information System (UYAP), a nation-wide e-justice network, has helped the Turkish government save over 500 million Turkish liras (nearly 337 million USD). The network offers online access to criminal background, identity information, driving license records, online postal service.

"DEMOCRACY WILL END TERRORISM"
Former diplomat Akin Ozcer said that human rights and freedoms were of great importance in a country which suffered from terrorism. Ozcer said if the government was resolute to solve terrorism issue, it should prepare a new constitution immediately. "There is need for democratization in fight against terrorism," he said.

VISA EXEMPTION TO RAISE NUMBER OF TOURISTS
Visa exemption between Turkey and Syria increased the number of Arab tourists visiting Turkey. The number of Arab tourists visiting the southern province of Mersin rose by hundred percent to 160,000 during Ramadan Holiday.
