THEY WANT RECORD ASSURANCE
Tax department added the delay fee to the 3.8 billion TL tax penalty imposed on Dogan Holding and requested a 4.8 billion TL guarantee in 15 days. According to the law, cash money, bank guarantee letters, treasury bills and government bonds can be presented as a guarantee. Dogan Holding stated that it would take legal action against the guarantee request and the following proceedings.

UNCLE UNDER DETENTION AS WELL
Ahmet Batur, the driver of Cem Garioglu's father Nida Garipoglu, was taken into custody in order to solve the mystery of Cem's 197-day escape. Batur said that Cem's uncle Hayyam Garipoglu was also among those who went to the house in Beylikduzu to take Cem away. Upon such statement, uncle Garipoglu was taken into custody last evening.

FROM PASSIVE NEIGHBORHOOD TO ACTIVE FRIENDSHIP
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan delivered a speech at UN General
Assembly and said, "we target to pass from passive good neighborhood relations to active friendship and cooperation relations with Armenia." Regarding Palestinian issue, Erdogan said that the problem could not be solved by taking into consideration the demands of only one side.

UNCLE GARIPOGLU DETAINED TOO
Businessman Hayyam Garipoglu, the uncle of Cem Garipoglu --suspect murderer of student Munevver Karabulut-- was detained yesterday. Hayyam Garipoglu was interrogated by public security department. It was learned that police detained Hayyam Garipoglu because his brother Mehmet Nida Garipoglu's driver Ahmet Batur said that "Hayyam Garipoglu was in the same car with Cem Garipoglu".

I KNOW IMPORTANCE OF KARABAKH
Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife attended the dinner hosted by U.S. President Barack Obama and his spouse in Pittsburgh. "I am pleased to see you," said Obama when greeting the Erdogans.
During his 15-minute tete-a-tete meeting with Premier Erdogan, Obama also said that he knew the importance of Karabakh in the Armenian issue.

RECORD ASSURANCE
Finance Ministry requested guarantee from Dogan Holding for the 4.8 billion TL penalty. On the other hand, Capital Markets Board of Turkey filed a complaint against Aydin Dogan and his daughter Hanzade. Dogan Holding was requested to show the 4.8 billion TL guarantee to the tax department in 15 days. If Dogan fails to present the sufficient guarantee, a precautionary distraint will be imposed on the holding.

COUP QUESTION TO TURKISH ARMED FORCES
An interesting development happened in yesterday's session of the second Ergenekon case in Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court. Prosecutor Mehmet Ali Pekguzel --in line with a petition by suspect Tuncay Ozkan-- requested a note to be written to General Staff Headquarters and ask whether there had been a coup attempt between the years 2002 and 2009. The court delegation accepted the demand.

OBAMAS MEET ERDOGANS AT DOOR
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife Emine Erdogan proceeded from New York to Pittsburgh to attend G-20 Summit. They attended a reception hosted by U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife. The two leaders had their photo taken first with their wives, and then together.

THEY MET AT RECEPTION
Within the framework of the G-20 summit in Pittsburgh, U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama hosted a reception at the "Phipps Conservatory" botanical garden. Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the reception together with his wife Emine Erdogan. The two leaders posed for photographers first with their wives and then the two together.

TSK TO BE ASKED ABOUT COUP THESES
Prosecutor Mehmet Ali Pekguzel of the second Ergenekon case suggested that the General Staff shall be asked, in line with Tuncay Ozkan's request, whether there had been any coup attempts within the Turkish Armed Forces between the years 2000 and 2009. Pekguzel also stated that the relevant documents should be requested if there had been such an attempt. The judges accepted the prosecutor's demand.

DETENTION CHAIN REACHES HAYYAM GARIPOGLU
Upon Cem's father's driver Ahmet Batur's remarks stating that "Hayyam Garioglu was together with father Nida Garipoglu when he came to take Cem from Beylikduzu", police detained the uncle as well. After Batur told the prosecutor a detail that he had not mentioned during his interrogation at the police, Hayyam Garipoglu was taken into custody yesterday.

THIS IS "DELEGATION" MOVE
Turkish Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin included Democratic Society Party (DTP) deputy Sirri Sakik in the delegation that would accompany him during his visit to Azerbaijan. With such move, a DTP deputy attended a visit of the Turkish Parliament Speaker for the first time.

MY BROTHER SHOULD NOT WAIT FOR AMNESTY
Osman Ocalan, brother of the head terrorist Abdullah Ocalan, said that an amnesty to be granted to his brother should not be an indispensable condition for the solution of the Kurdish issue.
Osman Ocalan, who left the terrorist organization PKK in 2005 after
directing it for years and started dealing with trade in the north of Iraq,
commented on the relation between Democratic Society Party (DTP) and PKK as well.
"DTP is the representative of the organization. It cannot act independently. Qandil steps in when there is any development that doesn't serve its interests," Ocalan said.

TURKEY NEVER TO GIVE UP ON ROAD TO EU, BAGIS
Turkey's Chief Negotiator for EU Talks Egemen Bagis attended a conference on "Turkey and EU" at Harvard University. Bagis said Turkey's EU membership was one of the most important peace projects of history.
"We are determined for full membership to EU. Internal and external
obstacles brought before us can never stop us," Bagis said.

COURT DECIDES TO ASK COUP PLANS TO TSK
Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court, which hears Ergenekon case, made an important decision yesterday. Accordingly, a note will be written to General Staff in line with the demands of prosecutor. Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) will be asked about coup attempts and related documents between 2002 and 2009. Also it will be examined whether an investigation was made if there had been an organization to stage a coup.

WORLD BANK: TURKEY'S GROWTH TARGET REALISTIC
World Bank extended support to the medium term economic program which was prepared by Turkish government. The bank's country director for Turkey Ulrich Zachau said that the economy administration prepared a realistic program. Zachau also thinks that Turkey can reach 2010 growth target which was set as 3.5 percent.

OZKAN'S TV GIVES UP
BIZ TV --owned by journalist Tuncay Ozkan, who has been in prison regarding Ergenekon case,-- ended its broadcast yesterday. Ozkan had sold Kanalturk and then established BIZ TV. When Ozkan was imprisoned, the personnel of BIZ TV had difficult days, and finally they were asked not to come to the TV yesterday.

70 PERCENT OF COMMANDOS ARE PROFESSIONAL
The project, which envisages to pursue fight against terrorism by
professional soldiers, has yielded results. General Staff stated that 70 percent of commandos was professional soldiers.
