WE WILL SHRINK BY 6 PCT IN 2009
The government, which revised the previously announced growth rate of 4 percent for 2009 as a 3.6 percent shrinking, has made public its medium-term economic program. According to the program, Turkey's economy would shrink by 6 percent this year. The government, which also expects a transition to growth starting from 2010, is expecting a 3.5 percent growth next year.
CEM SURRENDERS
The suspect of Munevver Karabulut's murder, Cem Garipoglu, surrendered to security forces midnight. After meeting with his lawyer on E-5 highway, Garipoglu went to Bahcelievler Police Station at 12:45 a.m. In his first statement, Garipoglu confessed that he committed the murder because of jealousy.

CRISIS NARROWS LIKE THIS
The shrinkage for 2009, which was earlier estimated as 3.6 percent, was re-calculated as 6 percent. The budget deficit, which was earlier estimated as 10 billion USD, is expected to become 62.8 billion USD. And the rate of unemployment will be 14.8 percent at the end of the year.

CEM GARIPOGLU SURRENDERS
Cem Garipoglu, who was wanted for his alleged involvement in killing of a young girl named Munevver Karabulut, surrendered to police in Istanbul.
Karabulut's decapitated body was found in a trash bin in Istanbul's Etiler
district some 6.5 months ago. It was revealed that Garipoglu has been kept in a dark house for 6.5 months.

CEM CAUGHT
The adventure of Cem Garipoglu, suspect of Munevver Karabulut's murder, who has been wanted by the police in Turkey and abroad for 197 days, has ended in Istanbul.
Garipoglu was caught in Bahcelievler district of Istanbul thanks to the
successful pursuit of security forces. Due to the intense pressure over them, Garipoglu's family delivered Cem to security forces under the supervision of his lawyer Aytekin Kaya last night.
NO VISAS WITH SYRIA
During Syrian President Bashar al-Asad's one-day visit to Turkey, a High Level Strategic Cooperation Agreement was signed between Turkey and Syria. The two countries have also decided to mutually exempt visa procedures.

Turkey and Syria decided to exempt visa procedures mutually. A high-level strategic cooperation agreement was signed between the two countries. State Minister Ali Babacan for Economy gave information about Turkey's middle-term program at a news conference. The program will set a road map for Turkish economy till 2012.
