Wednesday, 16 September 2009The first ministerial meeting of the Turkey-Iraq Strategic Cooperation Council will be held in Istanbul on September 17 and 18.
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Wednesday that Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari would preside the talks.
Turkish State Minister Zafer Caglayan, Interior Minister Besir Atalay, Public Works & Housing Minister Mustafa Demir, Health Minister Recep Akdag, Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim, Agriculture & Rural Affairs Minister Mehdi Eker, Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz, Environment & Forestry Minister Veysel Eroglu and their Iraqi counterparts will be in attendance at the meeting.
Preparatory efforts for the Turkey-Iraq Joint Council of Ministers meeting to be held during Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's scheduled visit to Baghdad in October, and joint projects to be carried out by the two countries under the Turkey-Iraq Strategic Cooperation Council will be discussed at the meeting. |
