Turkish State Minister & Chief Negotiator for EU talks Egemen Bagis welcomed the European Parliament's decision to give Jose Manuel Barroso another five-year term as European Commission president.
Bagis said in a statement on Wednesday that Barroso played a pioneering role in developing and pursuing realistic solution policies for the EU in the last five years.
"Mr. Barroso extended support to the EU's enlargement and Turkey's membership process during his term in office as the president of the European Commission. We will continue working together with the new commission to be formed under leadership of Barroso with the target of full membership," he said.
