Monday, 17 August 2009Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz said on Sunday that Turkey and Qatar would have talks on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) supply.
"A goodwill protocol can be signed to supply around 4 billion cubic meters LNG at the first stage in case the parties can agree," Yildiz said in an exclusive interview the A.A correspondent.
Yildiz said Qatar Amir Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani and an accompanying delegation would pay a visit to Istanbul on Monday and will meet Turkish President Abdullah Gul.
Yildiz said he would meet Qatar's Energy Minister to discuss energy matters, indicating that Qatar was one of the countries having the biggest natural gas reserves of the world.
"We are assessing a portfolio including Qatar to diversify both the routes and the countries with respect to supply security. We will have talks with Qatar on LNG supply in this framework," Yildiz said. |
