Friday, 7 August 2009The law providing punishment for consumption of beer in public places has come into force in Kazakhstan since August 2, assistant press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, Ernur Uali, informed, "Kazakhstan Today" agency reports.
According to E. Uali, "the amendments have been introduced to article 336 of the Code on Administrative Offences, where the word 'spirits' has been replaced with 'alcoholic drinks'.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, "in connection with the amendments, consumption of beer in public places will be punished by penalty or arrest."
"For the first infringement, that is drinking of alcoholic drinks in public places - 1 MRP, the second infringement - punishment from 1 to 2 MRP (1 MRP = 1296 KZT), and the third fact is considered systematic and is punished by an administrative arrest up to 15 days," E. Uali informed.
